### Ancient Greek

καὶ τὰ πολυχρονιώτερα τῶν ὀλιγοχρονιωτέρων καὶ τὰ βεβαιότερα τῶν ἀβεβαιοτέρων· ὑπερέχει γὰρ ἡ χρῆσις τῶν μὲν τῷ χρόνῳ τῶν δὲ τῇ βουλήσει· ὅταν γὰρ βούλωνται, ὑπάρχει μᾶλλον ἡ τοῦ βεβαίου.

### English

And things that last longer are preferable to those that are of shorter duration, and those that are safer to those that are less so; for time increases the use of the first and the wish that of the second; for whenever we wish, we can make greater use of things that are safe.

Et les choses qui durent plus longtemps sont préférables à celles qui durent moins, et les plus sûres à celles qui le sont moins. Car le temps accroît l’usage des premières, et la volonté celui des secondes ; chaque fois que nous le voulons, nous pouvons faire un plus grand usage des choses qui sont sûres.
