## Passage 2.19.20

### Ancient Greek

καὶ εἰ ἔμελλε γίγνεσθαι , καὶ ποιεῖν· εἰκὸς γὰρ τὸν μέλλοντα καὶ ποιῆσαι.

### English

And if anything was on the point of being done, it most probably was done; for it is likely that one who was on the point of doing something has carried it out.

### French

Et si quelque chose était sur le point d’être fait, cela a très probablement été fait ; car il est vraisemblable que celui qui était sur le point de faire quelque chose l’a mené à bien.
