## Passage 10.2.2

### Anglais

But this will be our concern and that of experienced men. Nevertheless, you will help me with your advice as far as you can, as you have done until now. The difficulties cannot be disentangled. Everything must be entrusted to fortune. We make the attempt without any hope. If anything better happens, we shall be astonished. I wish Dionysius had not set out to see me; my dear Tullia wrote to me about him. But the time is unsuitable, and I should not wish my misfortunes, especially when so great, to provide a spectacle for a man who is no friend. Yet I do not wish you to be his enemy on my account.
