Vornehmheit und Dankbarkeit. - Eine vornehme Seele wird sich gern zur Dankbarkeit verpflichtet fühlen und den Gelegenheiten, bei denen sie sich verpflichtet, nicht ängstlich aus dem Wege zu gehen; ebenso wird sie nachher gelassen in den Aeusserungen der Dankbarkeit sein; während niedere Seelen sich gegen alles Verpflichtetwerden sträuben oder nachher in den Aeusserungen ihrer Dankbarkeit übertrieben und allzu sehr beflissen sind. Letzteres kommt übrigens auch bei Personen von niederer Herkunft oder gedrückter Stellung vor: eine Gunst, ihnen erwiesen, deucht ihnen ein Wunder von Gnade.
