Privacy
Last updated: 19 September 2026
You come here to read and talk, sometimes about personal matters. Here is what we keep, who can access it, and how to ask us to act on your data.
What you share with us
For your account, we keep your email address, display name, settings and, if you choose a password, a protected version of it. We also keep your conversations, replies and sources, documents you attach, favorites and messages sent through the contact form. The site records information needed for sign-in, security and troubleshooting.
Why we use it
We use your data to provide the service you request: creating your account, retrieving your conversations and preferences, and answering your messages. Our legitimate interest in protecting the site and resolving failures supports the use of security and diagnostic information. We do not use your conversations or private documents to train AI models.
Your conversations and documents
An attached document is used only in conversations where you add it. Only you can access your documents through your account. Passages from them may inform a reply, which remains in the conversation history even if you later delete the document. Deleting a document removes its file and searchable extracts; deleting a conversation removes its messages and related diagnostics.
Who can see it
The people running the site can access information needed for support and troubleshooting. An authorized administrator can read your conversations and messages in the private cockpit, without editing them from that view. Diagnostic copies mask extracts from attached documents, but may contain your messages and replies that paraphrase a document. Exports made for support or security may also retain a separate copy. We do not sell your data.
Outside services
Dialogue replies are computed on infrastructure controlled by Prokopton42, without sending your conversations to a third-party hosted AI service. If you choose “Continue with Google,” Google sends us the information needed to sign you in, including your email address and name. If you follow an Amazon purchase link, you leave Prokopton42 and Amazon’s privacy policy applies. We do not use advertising trackers on the site.
Cookies and preferences
A cookie keeps you signed in for up to 30 days unless you log out sooner. Other cookies or settings stored in your browser remember your language, Library display and interface choices. Google Analytics uses cookies to measure visits to public pages. It loads as soon as you open those pages. Conversation, account and sign-in pages are excluded from this measurement. We do not send page URL parameters to the tag. We do not use advertising trackers on the site.
How long we keep data
Your account data and conversations remain available while you use the service or until they are deleted. You can delete a conversation or document on the site. To delete your account, receive a copy of your data or ask us to remove a contact message, write through the contact form. Backups or legal obligations may delay complete erasure; we will explain what applies to your request.
Your rights and questions
Depending on your situation, you can ask to access, correct or erase your data, receive a portable copy or restrict its use. You can also object to processing based on our legitimate interests. Send your request to the publisher of Prokopton42 using the contact form. You may complain to the French data protection authority (CNIL) if you are unhappy with our response.
