Human, All Too Human II Block b0294

287. The Source of Great Love. Whence arise a man’s sudden passions for a woman, the deep, inward ones? Least of all from sensuality alone. But when a man finds weakness, need of help, and at the same time arrogance united in one being, something happens within him as though his soul were about to overflow: at the same moment he is moved and offended. At this point springs the source of great love.
