τὰ δέ γε πρός τι ἐπινοεῖται μόνον ἀλλ’ οὐχ ὑπάρχει, καθὼς ἐν τοῖς περὶ ἀποδείξεως (adv. log. II 453;461) παρεστήσαμεν· καὶ τὸ αἴτιον ἄρα ἐπινοηθήσεται μόνον, οὐχ ὑπάρξει δέ.

But relatives are merely conceived and do not exist, as we showed in our discussion of demonstration (Against the Logicians II 453, 461). Therefore cause too will merely be conceived and will not exist.

Or les relatifs sont seulement conçus et n’existent pas, comme nous l’avons établi dans nos développements sur la démonstration (Adv. log. II 453 ; 461). La cause sera donc seulement conçue, mais n’existera pas.
