Τὸ νῦν δέ μετελθόντες καὶ ἀπὸ τοῦ τέλους τῆς ῥη- τορικῆς ποιώμεθα τὰς ἐνστάσεις. πάλιν τοίνυν λεκτέον ὡς εἰ μηδέν ἐστι ῥητορικῆς τέλος, οὐδέν ἐστι ῥητορικὴ διὰ τὸ πᾶσαν τεχνικὴν ἕξιν πρός τι τέλος λαμβόνειν τὴν ἀνα- φοράν. οὐχὶ δέ γε ἔστι τι ῥητορικῆς τέλος, ὡς δείξομεν· οὐκ ἄρα ἐστὶ τέχνη ἡ ῥητορική.
