Ἀθετήσαντες δὴ καὶ τὸ κατὰ τοὺς Χαλδαίους ὡροσκό- πιον, συντόμως τε παραστήσαντες τὸν κατὰ τὴν γένεσιν χρόνον ἄληπτον αὐτοῖς εἶναι, ἐπὶ τὸ λειπόμενον τῆς ὑπο- σχέσεως (§ 52;54) μέρος χωρῶμεν. ἐλείπετο δὲ καὶ πεῥὶ τῆς ἀναφορᾶς τῆς ἐν τῷ ζῳδιακῷ κύκλῳ διελθεῖν, ἀπο- στάντας τῶν ἔμπροσθεν ἐκκειμένων ἡμῖν ἐλέγχων.

Having rejected the Chaldeans' timepiece as well, and having briefly established that the time of birth cannot be apprehended by them, let us proceed to the remaining part of our undertaking (§§ 52, 54). It remained for us to discuss the rising within the zodiacal circle, apart from the refutations set out above.
