περὶ τὸν βίον τέχνῃ καθηγεῖσθαι. καὶ μὴν εἰ ὁ φρόνιμος διδάσκει τὸν ἄφρονα, θεωρητικὴ ὀφείλει εἶναι ἡ φρόνησις τῆς ἀφροσύνης ὥσπερ καὶ ἡ τέχνη τῆς ἀτεχνίας· οὐχὶ δέ γε ἡ φρόνησις δύναται εἶναι θεωρητικὴ τῆς ἀφροσύνης· οὐκ ἄρα ὁ φρόνιμος τοῦ ἄφρονός ἐστι διδακτικός. ὁ γὰρ γενόμενος φρόνιμος ἔκ τινος συνασκήσεως καὶ τριβῆς (φύσει γὰρ οὐδείς ἐστι τοιοῦτος) ἤτοι ὑποκειμένης αὐτῶ τῆς ἀφροσύνης προσεκτήσατο τὴν φρόνησιν, ἢ κατὰ τὴν ἐκείνης ἀποβολὴν καὶ τὴν ταύτης κτῆσιν γέγονε φρόνιμος.
