Philippics Passage 16

For my part, to the full extent that I can strive and accomplish anything through care, labor, vigilance, authority, and judgment, I shall neglect nothing that I consider relevant to your liberty. In view of your most generous services to me, I could not neglect it without committing a crime. Today, for the first time after a long interval, when that bravest man and devoted friend of yours, Marcus Servilius here, and his colleagues, most distinguished men and excellent citizens, referred the matter, we have caught fire with hope of liberty, with me as adviser and leader.
